Day Two | He Kāhui Mano
Wednesday 9th October 2024
Redefining Our Future

Our final day aims to provide a kaupapa Māori view of our development potential through a range of presentations from Aotearoa's most influential Māori scholars, practitioners and entrepreneurs

Morning Session

The morning sessions continue to 'redefine our future' with inspiring korero from thought leaders and change makers: Dr Ganesh Nana, Manu Caddie, Dr Ruakere Hond. Our first speaker Professor Jonathan Chapman is a global design expert - connecting beautiful design with material eternities.

All of the presenters will share transformative kaupapa-led solutions that can enable Māori aspirations to be fully realised- activating whanau, hapū, community and global-level change.

Afternoon Accelerator Sessions

Join us in the afternoon for our 'Accelerator' Sessions, featuring daily reflections with Murray Hemi. These sessions, conducted in small group wānanga, focus on three Circular themes designed to deepen your understanding of initiatives centred on:

  1. Regenerating Taiao - He Kawa Ora, regenerating and healing power of the Maara - Glen Skipper

  2. Circular Business - An amazing Taranaki business, Kahu WhakaTere

  3. Resource Recovery (Waste)- Kore Hiakai - Zero Hunger Collective, Kai Sovereignty - Moko Morris

These sessions will be run concurrently, and you will get the chance to choose ONE kaupapa that interests you. We will then return to the main whare to reflect on learnings in small groups with Murray Hemi, to bring He Kāhui Mano to a close at the Poroporoake.
